About Us

Patrick O´Donnell B.Sc. (Biochemistry)

Neuromuscular therapist

Hi there, I am Patrick, my aim is to get you to a state of optimal heath, where you are free of aches, pains and stress. If you are having these issues, that is your body’s way of telling you something is out of balance. My job is to find out where those imbalances lie, which is unique for each person.

Due to a road traffic accident over 13 years ago which led to chronic pain, I really do understand what it can be like to live with chronic pain from the patient’s point of view, one year after my accident I was suffering with pain, lots of it, all day, everyday! Like most people I followed the traditional medical route for almost 2 years seeing specialist after specialist and I spent a lot of money on consults, scans and medicines, however, I was still in a lot of pain, something had to change. I had as much pain as before and I was taking lots of painkillers and anti inflammatories that were not really effective and not doing my body any good. I was really stressed out too. By chance, I visited a massage therapist and a chiropractor and to my surprise after the first few sessions my pain was drastically reduced. I then began to my manage my pain through regular visits to massage therapists, chiropractors, osteopaths and other complimentary therapists. I was so impressed by the results I decided it was time to learn.

I wish to say clearly that the traditional doctors and surgeons saved my life for which I am extremely grateful and without them I would not be here. They save lifes everyday and I believe strongly in modern medicine and I frequently work together with doctors, psychologists, nutritionists, physical therapists and chiropractors in helping to get the best results for our patients using biomedical and  biopsychosocial approaches. I believe in an integrated, approach combining traditional medicine with complimentary approaches in order to get results. However, as in my case, many times with chronic issues these traditional medicines and interventions do not work very well at times.

I believe that results count! If something is not working why keep doing it? That applies to traditional and complimentary therapies. If medicines are helping, great, they can be a part of the solution, at least at the begining, although in the longterm we should take as few drugs as possible. The same with therapy, sometimes in the beginning it needs to be more intense but in the longterm the need should be less. I stress to my clients that if they do not see results within 3-4 sessions they should go somewhere else.

Whatever your issue back pain, stress, injury, difficulty losing weight you’ve probably seen a number of traditional and/or alternative practicioners. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, something works, often they do not. I see patients everyday for whom many therapies have failed.

Why did these programs/therapies not work?

I believe it is because these treatments are usually the exact same treatment for everybody! But everybody is different, so the treatment must be tailored to the specific person and issue.

You’re not like everyone else. What works for one person, isn’t necessarily going to be successful for someone else. In fact, that’s very often the case.

I specialise in treating pain, stress and injury using a personalised, integrated, results based approach using modern manual therapies, corrective exercise and other interventions.

Call me today for results based therapy.

I love to dive and swim and I have worked as a dive instructor in Thailand, Mexico, Peru and Australia, for me this is an excellent way to stay healthy. I also work here with sports club, gyms, yoga centres and professional athletes.

I believe in continuing education and I have just completed postgraduate studies in manual orthopedic therapy and I am studying a postgraduate D.O. program in osteopathy.  I keep upto date with evidence based clinical studies on pain management using traditional and complemetary medicine.

Our Philosophy

I combine a balance of different approaches such as Neuromuscular Therapy, Deep tissue Massage, Triggerpoint hterapy, Dry Needling, Myofascial release, Joint manipulation/mobilization and lifestyle changes to eliminate pain and stress, heal injuries, and restore balance to your body.

Our mission is to provide top quality results based therapy to help you live a happier, healthier and more balanced life.

I believe that the body has amazing abilities to heal itself. However, in today’s society, many people ignore what their body is telling them and when the underlying problem becomes serious enough they expect doctors to give them a "magic pill" and everything will be fine! Of course modern medicine is very important but is just part of the solution to managing chronic problems.

We must all take responsibility for our bodies, get in touch with our inner selves. Regular therapy, proper breathing, diet and exercise are all essential components of maintaining a healthy body. This is not just my opinion, clinical studies prove that these techniques are as effective and in many cases more effective than drugs and/or surgery alone.

Each treatment plan is tailored to your specific problems. We take a full history and complete an assessment to understand your conditions and maximise the effects of our treatments.
